Wizard Integration

Spectral Wizard gives the agent access to curated guidance for common development tasks. It can suggest relevant skills, examples, and project resources so you can move from a question to a practical next step faster.

What Wizard Helps With

  • Task guidance — find checklists and recommended approaches for unfamiliar work.
  • Project conventions — get guidance that matches the workspace you are working in.
  • Design and implementation ideas — discover patterns, examples, and reusable resources.
  • Quality checks — follow validation steps and best practices included with the guidance.
  • Issue reporting — send feedback when a Wizard resource or integration needs attention.

The agent checks for relevant guidance when it needs it; you can also ask directly, for example: “What Wizard guidance is available for authentication?”

Setup

  1. Install the Wizard integration if it is not already available in your Spectral installation.
  2. Open the Spectral settings or run the setup prompt in the agent.
  3. Sign in when prompted and allow the workspace to use Wizard guidance.
  4. Start a new task and ask the agent to find guidance for the technology or workflow you are using.

If your workspace uses shared guidance, the same recommended resources can be available to teammates working on that project.

Using Wizard in a Task

Describe the goal in normal language. The agent can search for relevant guidance, explain the recommended approach, and help apply it to your project. You remain in control: review suggestions before changing code, and ask the agent to compare alternatives when more than one approach is reasonable.

You can also ask the agent to list available guidance, explain a resource, or report a problem without leaving the conversation.

Troubleshooting

  • Wizard is unavailable: check that the integration is installed and that you are signed in.
  • No guidance is found: make the request more specific by naming the framework, language, or task.
  • Workspace guidance looks wrong: verify that the agent is opened in the intended project directory and refresh the workspace connection.
  • Authentication keeps failing: sign out and sign in again, then check your network or proxy settings.
