Grok-4.6 scores 2.1/100 overall in the r/codex community benchmark, collected October 7, 2026 from 39 posts and 236 comments. Its only scored category is Agentic & tool use at 42/100.
Confidence: low — Coverage: 39 posts mentioning Grok-4.6 from a single subreddit (r/codex) inside the window the archive labels month, with up to 40 kept comments per post across the 10 highest-scored posts — 236 kept comments in total. The sample is dominated by the dot.com redirect troll and always-on-agent comparisons (Dots, Grok Bot, Muse, OpenClaw, Hermes); not one thread evaluates the model's capability, pricing or reliability head-on, so every capability category is null on purpose except agentic & tool use. What this is not: an independent measurement.

42Discussed only as an always-on agent competitor: 'Dot, Grokbot, Muse all seem the same', with users dismissing it as 'nothing special that Openclaw and or Hermes already couldn't do before' — though one owner reports their dot shopping a cart end-to-end from a recipe list.
Summary
The sample is 10 posts from r/codex inside the window the archive labels month, with up to 40 kept comments per post (236 kept in total), and it is the strangest of the eight: Grok-4.6's mention volume comes almost entirely from trolling and product-category jokes, not from anyone evaluating the model. The top thread is 'Elon did the funniest thing right now' (588 points) — 'OpenAI announces Dots, SpaceXAI buys the domain dot.com and redirects to Grok Bot' — with replies like 'Why didnt he buy dots.com Is he stupid?' and 'But the product is called "Dots", not Dot. It's like buying Twitte .com'.
The second thread is OpenAI's rumored 'O' product, judged through a Grok lens: 'Better usage ? o No. Smarter models ? o No. A groklike bot? o Yeah.' The always-on-agent category is where Grok Bot actually gets discussed — 'Dot, Grokbot, Muse all seem the same. What is it all used for?' — and the verdict is commodity: 'No. It's nothing special that Openclaw and or Hermes already couldn't do before. I set my Hermes up months ago.' One owner disagrees with a concrete story: 'I gave my dot a bunch of recipes this morning and it shopped my cart for me, picked a curbside pickup slot based on when I was free in my calendar, took it all the way to the checkout screen.'
What the sample never does is evaluate the model: no thread judges Grok-4.6's intelligence, speed, coding or price, which is why every capability category is left unscored. The mention count (39 posts) measures brand presence in Codex's launch week, not community assessment — and the community's own read is that the category itself is niche: 'The amount of people who need an always-on agent must be vanishingly small.'
Everything here is archive-derived sentiment from a self-selected Reddit sample: no independent measurements, and every claim above is a comment a user wrote.
Pros and cons
Pros
- The always-on agent angle is real for at least one owner: 'I gave my dot a bunch of recipes this morning and it shopped my cart for me, picked a curbside pickup slot based on when I was free in my calendar, took it all the way to the checkout screen.'
- Marketing reach: the dot.com redirect to Grok Bot ('Elon did the funniest thing right now') kept the brand at the center of OpenAI's biggest launch week.
Cons
- Judged a commodity: 'No. It's nothing special that Openclaw and or Hermes already couldn't do before. I set my Hermes up months ago.'
- The mention volume is trolling, not capability: 'Why didnt he buy dots.com Is he stupid?' and 'It's like buying Twitte .com' dominate the top thread.
- The product category is doubted before the model is discussed: 'The amount of people who need an always-on agent must be vanishingly small.'
- Never evaluated head-on: not one of the 39 posts judges Grok-4.6's intelligence, speed or coding, which is why every capability category is unscored.

ReasonableDefault · 84 points neutral view on Reddit ↗ “I don’t really understand the appeal for this product or the Grok/Muse equivalents. What’s wrong with just interacting with an agent when you need to? The amount of people who need an always-on agent must be vanishingly small”
Wise-Reflection-7400 · 72 points neutral view on Reddit ↗ “No. It's nothing special that Openclaw and or Hermes already couldn't do before. I set my Hermes up months ago. Running 24/7 on my server in it's own sandboxed environment with tons of tools / proton mail bridge / telegram setup / copyparty access, etc...etc... I've used it like once this week to scrape text from a paywalled site. That's about the extent of it's use. It's a novelty that is impressive for 1 entire week. Maybe. Go look at Openclaw and Hermes user retention rates to see how this is going to play out.”

Gonna make my cake and eat it too.”
